What type of soil should I use?

We highly recommend using a high-quality, well-draining potting mix for optimal plant health. Our trusted go-to soil bases include Dr. Earth House Plant, Mother Earth, or Fox Farm products, expertly blended with a mix of perlite, lava rock, washed sand, leca, and orchard bark for superior aeration and drainage.

What are the lighting requirements for most house plants?

Lighting requirements can vary significantly depending on the type of plant. Generally speaking, the majority of houseplants thrive best with bright, indirect sunlight to maintain healthy growth. However, certain plants are more adaptable and can tolerate lower light conditions, while others may require consistent exposure to direct sunlight to flourish.

What are your soil recommendations?

We recommend using a well-draining potting mix that is specifically formulated for houseplants. Our preferred mix contains a base soil, perlite, lava rock, leca, washed sand, and orchid bark for optimal drainage and aeration. Avoid using garden soil, as it can become compacted and suffocate the roots.

Should I have a watering schedule?

While a schedule can be helpful, it's best to water your plants when the soil is 50%-75% dry, stick a chopstick into the soil – from the point of the chopstick to about 1-2inches up is wet and the rest is dry, it's time to water. Ensure proper drainage to prevent waterlogging. Always err on the side of underwatering.

What kind of lighting does it need?

Different plants have unique lighting needs, but most houseplants thrive best in bright, indirect light. Direct sunlight can damage their leaves, so it's important to avoid exposing them to harsh rays. Instead, place them near a sunny windowsill or enhance their growth with artificial grow lights for optimal results.

I have to clean my plants?

Absolutely! To help your plants thrive, gently clean their leaves using a warm, damp cloth. For an added shine and protection, apply a small amount of neem oil.
